About This Blog

Hi! My name is Lori Anderson and I am the owner, designer, and crafts person of Anderson's Treasures. Anderson's Treasures is a small business selling handmade jewelry, handmade cards, handmade scrapbooks and baby books, bookmarks, magnets, 3D decorations, lighted glass blocks, party, wall, and seasonal decorations...and so on...everything is handmade. I have a shop on Facebook (you will find a link to my shop above) and I also sell locally. I have been crafting for years and really enjoy working with my hands. Designing and crafting jewelry, cards, scrapbooks, etc., is a great creative outlet for me. I have great passion for what I do. The pieces have to speak to me. They have to make sense and evoke emotion. I do become attached to my pieces. I love my pieces. I would never craft an item that I would not wear, use, give, or send myself. Please fill free to take a look around my blog, visit my gallery links for pictures of all my creations, comment, "like", "follow", "share" my posts, drop by my store and perhaps purchase something if you like, and please...tell your frineds!!! ;) If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to either leave a comment, or message me at andersonstreasures@yahoo.com

The Lessons We Learn...

Well, somehow...I let my Eclips blade get dull...not sure how that happened! :) LOL
Actually, I've had my machine for almost a year now...I believe I received it around the first of August last year...and I believe this is the first time I had to buy new blades. My machine came with two blades...and as much as I use my beloved Eclips...that's awesome that all I've used is 2 blades! :) I wasn't too worried about purchasing new blades because I knew my Cricut blades would work in my Eclips...little did I know all my extra Cricut blades were dull as well...now why did I keep those?!?!? I will try not to dwell on that...but learn to keep better stock in my blades...I've been "grounded" for almost a week now...not able to use my machine until I could get more blades shipped to me! Next time I'm at the scrapbook store, I'm going to buy another package...they come in packages of 2...and going forward...next time I open a new package...I'll order a new one...that way I'll never be without again!!! :) We live...we learn! :) Lesson learned! :)

Now...that's my story for the day. I have updated my Paper Crafts Gallery with some new cards...Graduation and an Anniversary one...click here to view them! :)

Have a great night! :)

Updated...YAY!!! :)

Alright now! I finally finished both posts! :) I finally was able to get the first one written, photos uploaded, and submitted several hours a go...but then I went with the Hubby to his Aunt's house...he needed to work on a computer there...and left the files for the second post to finish uploading. They were ready and waiting for me when we got home...yay...I think I'm all updated now!!! :) Here are two pics to show as a sample as to what is on the posts...

Ugh...I totally forgot that was going to take another forever! I'll be so glad come tomorrow (make that today now) at 8 p.m....that is when my U-Verse should be on and I should be getting a MUCH faster internet speed!!! :)

OK...so click here HERE or click on the Paper Craft Gallery link at the top of this page to see the posts. Thanks and I hope everyone has a great day...stay safe in all these bad tornado producing storms!!!

***P.S.~~~ Since I haven't used my Esty Shop in forever...and I have found a way to sell my items on my Anderson's Treasures...I changed my Online shop link above from the Etsy...to my FB Store. You can either get to my store from my FB Business Page...or click HERE. They say on cell phones and tablets, that you can not access the store from the FB page...however...if you click on the link above (it is the same store as the one on FB...you just don't have the FB adds or other distractions) you can view it and interact with it on any device. If you haven't gone over to look at the store, please do! I have jewelry sets, and all kinds of cards. I will be adding other stuff later.

Mother's Day 2013 Cards! :)

I've been somewhat busy this week making some Mother's Day cards. I also created Anderson's Treasures Facebook Shop...a shop on my business Facebook page. Check it out sometime! :) I'm just getting it started...I do have cards and jewelry sets in there...but hope to have much more in there soon. I have to get back in the swing of this awesome craft game now that I somewhat have my craft room back!!! :)

I posted some new pictures in my Paper Craft Gallery of the Mother's Day cards I've made this week. I also posted the picture of a card I made for my Sister-in-Law.

I'll give you a sneak peak of one of the Mother's Day Cards...but please do go check out the other pictures.

This is called a "Step Card" so go to the gallery and check out the side view and the surprise in the middle!!! :) I used SVGCuts' "Cards for Mom" kit for this card. I cut the card out with my Sizzix Eclips cutting machine. If you haven't heard of SVGCuts and use .svg files in an electronic die cutting machine...go check them out...they are very reasonably priced, offer a cool free file each week, have amazing files and kits that are just gorgeous, have superb customer service, and very awesome and easy to follow videos! I just can't praise this company and the talented couple that own and operate it enough!!! :)

I'm back!!! :)

Well...it sure has been a while since I updated this blog...and so much has been going on. My booth was pretty successful and a lot of fun...yet I closed it the end of November. The hubby and I decided to go into Foster Care (I was a Foster Mom previously and worked at a Teen Shelter and Children's Home for 5 years...so it is totally where my heart it). We are going through the process of becoming licensed...however at the same time we have been working on a house remodel...which we need to finish before we proceed in the licensing process. So, I put my business and even personal crafting on hold in order to prepare for all of this. We are about at the point where Kyle will have to do what is left in the house (except paint...but I have to wait on him to complete some things before I can do that)...and I was able to get my craft room all organized and together...(still waiting on walls, ceiling, and floor...ha ha...but we are going to finish the rooms for the kiddos first!)...ok...as much as possible and enough to be able to get back to work...so I guess there is no time like the present!!! :)

I have in the mean time taken some small orders...a couple of business card orders (didn't have to have my craft room for that!) and last week I worked on some samples for wedding invitations. I made this card today...

This is an A2 sized card with a brown base. I used my Cuttlebug and the "Seeing Spots" embossing folder to emboss the blue mat. I used grosgrain ribbon to go under (and over) the mats. I used Tim Holtz distress ink in Broken China and Brown from the Color Box Paintbox Ink Pad to lightly ink the edges of all the mats and the card base. The stamp is a Lizzie Anne stamp that was stamped using StazOn Jet Black Ink. The buttons were from a pack...pretty sure they're just an off brand blended color pack. The striped pattered paper is Paper Studios, the white is Georgia Pacific plain white cardstock...and the blue cardstock...I'm not really sure...it was in my scraps! ;) I used my ATG Gun to adhere the mats and ribbon and Elmer's Glue Dots to adhere the buttons. The inside has 2 cream colored mats...my customer requested blank inside.

I hope you like this card!!! :)

Now...I guess I better get to work!!! :)

...and I hope to get better at keeping this blog up to date and going!!! :)
