About This Blog

Hi! My name is Lori Anderson and I am the owner, designer, and crafts person of Anderson's Treasures. Anderson's Treasures is a small business selling handmade jewelry, handmade cards, handmade scrapbooks and baby books, bookmarks, magnets, 3D decorations, lighted glass blocks, party, wall, and seasonal decorations...and so on...everything is handmade. I have a shop on Facebook (you will find a link to my shop above) and I also sell locally. I have been crafting for years and really enjoy working with my hands. Designing and crafting jewelry, cards, scrapbooks, etc., is a great creative outlet for me. I have great passion for what I do. The pieces have to speak to me. They have to make sense and evoke emotion. I do become attached to my pieces. I love my pieces. I would never craft an item that I would not wear, use, give, or send myself. Please fill free to take a look around my blog, visit my gallery links for pictures of all my creations, comment, "like", "follow", "share" my posts, drop by my store and perhaps purchase something if you like, and please...tell your frineds!!! ;) If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to either leave a comment, or message me at andersonstreasures@yahoo.com

Exciting News!!! ;)

If you follow me on Facebook...you already know...I'm opening a booth at the Canton Market Place in Vernon, Texas! ;) My husband and I went and put up some shelves, tables, and drawers this past weekend to get ready. I will open my booth this coming Friday, May 25th! ;) I will be selling my handmade jewelry and cards, and may also have things like magnets and bookmarks...all handmade of course. I will be taking custom orders on scrapbooks, cards, and anything else I make. I may also offer some scrapbook supplies...such as paper, cardstock, and embellishments that I cut out with my Cricuts. I may also sell some things I have bought...like paper, cardstock, embellishments and other things that for some reason I decided not to use. ;) I know there are a lot of people in town who scrapbook and have to go 50 + miles to get to the nearest place that sells pretty scrapbook items...come see what I have! ;) I also hope to add other things in time, such as scrapbooks, art blocks, plagues, and so on. I will be taking custom orders for scrapbooks from day 1...I probably won't have any premade ones in my booth for a couple of weeks. We'll see how it goes! ;) Wish me luck!!! ;)

Alice In Wonderland Baby Book! ;)

Well, my Cricut Imagine arrived and I am sooooo loving it! ;) I redid the two cuts I showed in the previous post becasue I found a way to make the colors of the characters RGB correct...as Disney made them...also, so if I had two different cuts of the same character...they'd match! ;) I completed the book last Wednesday and am just now getting the pictures posted. I will show the front cover and first page of the book here...and then you will have to go to my Card Gallery Blog (there is a link at the top of this page) to see the rest of it. This way I don't have to double post! ;) Here is the first page:

I left a space to the left of Alice so when the mommy to be decides on a name, we can add it there.

Here is the first page in the book. I thought the White Rabbit with his time piece was the perfect image for the page that gave the date, time, etc. information for the baby! ;)

I make these books from SCRATCH!!! ;) I take chipboard, cover it with paper, add scrapbook paper, bind the book, cut out images with my Cricut Expression or Cricut Imagine, and add other embellishments as  I see fit! I take custom orders so hit me up!!! ;)  As you can see from my blog galleries, I also make jewelry and cards. I <3 what I do!!! ;)

Check out http://andersonscraftytreasurespapergallery.blogspot.com/ to see more pictures of this book soon...I'm still uploading the other pictures...so it may take a little while! ;)

Imagine ~ Alice In Wonderland

I'm awaiting a very exciting package...my new Cricut Imagine! It should be here tomorrow or Tuesday...and I just can't wait! ;)

I am currnetly working on a baby book order...an Alice In Wonderland themed book! I'm kind of procrastinating because I really want to use my Cricut Imagine on it! Alas...it is not here and...I better get to work! Check out this picture of the Alice cut I put together earlier! I used my Cricut Expression and my new Disney Classic Cricut Cartridge.

Here is the "Title" cut. Cut with the same machine and cartridge.

I plan on using both of these cuts on the front cover. ;) I already have my paper selected, put together, and the book is already bound together. I used my Bind It All to bind it. Now all that is left is the cutting out the images and decorating it! ;) I'm on the home stretch! ;)

My Smash Book!!! ;)

I used my Bind It All for the first time today to make this "Smash Book"!!! ;)

I made the cover using the cardboard from paper packs. I cut 2 ~ 6X4" pieces, one for the front cover and one for the back cover. The cardstock is from DCWV "The Blossoms & Butterflies Stack" and is also 6X4". The ribbon is Offray 3/8" blue grosgrain ribbon. The butterflies and words were cut out with the Cricut. I used plain white Georgia Pacific Cardstock for the letters and some scrap (not sure what brand) blue textured cardstock for the butterflies. The words were cut out with Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge at 3/4". The butterflies were cut out with Create A Critter Cricut cartridge, the bigger one was cut out at 1" and the two smaller ones were cut out at 3/4". I used Silver Stickles to embellish the butterflies. I used 1/2" O Wire for the binding and of course, as started above, bound the book using the Bind It All...which was so easy and fun. I did adhere my cardstock onto the front and back of both covers with my ATG Gun before I punched the holes and before I bound the book. All the other decorations and embellishing were done after the book was bound.

Here is the back of the front cover (above). The cardstock is from the same DCWV pack as the front of the cover...and the front of the back cover (below) is the same paper...so that way it will coordinate. ;) For the inside paper I used plain Georgia Pacific White Cardstock cut down to 5 3/4 X 3 3/4"...so that it would be just a tad smaller than the covers.

Here is the back of the book (below). This is scrap (not sure what brand...from Hobby Lobby...so probably Paper Studio) piece of brown textured cardstock. I tried to put my stamp on it, but it didn't turn out to well. I didn't stamp it until the book was already put together, so I'm not sure if that was because when I turned the book over to stamp it, if it wasn't level, or because the textured cardstock didn't take the ink very well. Anyway, I'm sure I'll end up redoing that part of the book! ;)
