About This Blog

Hi! My name is Lori Anderson and I am the owner, designer, and crafts person of Anderson's Treasures. Anderson's Treasures is a small business selling handmade jewelry, handmade cards, handmade scrapbooks and baby books, bookmarks, magnets, 3D decorations, lighted glass blocks, party, wall, and seasonal decorations...and so on...everything is handmade. I have a shop on Facebook (you will find a link to my shop above) and I also sell locally. I have been crafting for years and really enjoy working with my hands. Designing and crafting jewelry, cards, scrapbooks, etc., is a great creative outlet for me. I have great passion for what I do. The pieces have to speak to me. They have to make sense and evoke emotion. I do become attached to my pieces. I love my pieces. I would never craft an item that I would not wear, use, give, or send myself. Please fill free to take a look around my blog, visit my gallery links for pictures of all my creations, comment, "like", "follow", "share" my posts, drop by my store and perhaps purchase something if you like, and please...tell your frineds!!! ;) If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to either leave a comment, or message me at andersonstreasures@yahoo.com

Two For One Project! ;)

After about 2 weeks of not making anything with my Cricut at home (unbelievable I know!) I had the itch to make something! I finally had time for a project on Wednesday night and I needed to make a card for my mom, so that is what I sat down to do. My mom has been injured and needs some cheering up, so I wanted to make her a bright cheery card. I found this flower and leaf on my Accents Essentials Cricut Cartridge, and set out to find a patterned paper with her favorite color...yellow. I found something in my stash and found an awesome coordinating orange, and then a great background paper! I cut the flower out at 4 inches, and the leaf, I believe at 2 inches. I had to make the flower twice, since I wanted to use two colors, and I also cut out 2 leaves because I didn't really know how many leaves I wanted to use. I outlined every other flower pedal and the leaf with Diamond Stickles, and added a button to the center of the flower. I stamped a sentiment on the inside that says "When I count my blessing, I count you twice", and stamped the word "Hi" on the outside of the card. My mom fell on the ice back when we had the ice storms last month. She has a knot on her abdomen the doctors have been trying to figure out what it is and how to treat it, she has some other pains, can't get around very well at all, and she has been pretty depressed due to all of this. I'm sending her this card too cheer her up a little. We would appreciate prayers going out on her behalf for comfort and healing, as well as for the doctors to have insight on what is going on with her and the wisdom to know how to help her start feeling better soon. Here is the card I made for my mom:

It turned out that I had an extra leaf, and the alternating flower pedals I didn't used to make another card! We have a new resident where I work and needed to make her a welcome card. I intended to use my work Cricut to make it, but since I had these spare parts...I thought it would be perfect to make it for her! ;) On the inside of this card, I'd typed and cut out the sentiment "Welcome to Wynwood, Your new home, and to our family!". Here is the picture of her card:

Thank you for allowing me to share this project with you! Please "Like" this post (if you like it), feel free to comment, and become a "follower" of my new Blog...the more the merrier! ;)

My First Blog! ;)

Well, I believe there is a first for everything...and this is my first Blog! ;) I hope to share my jewelry, cards, and hopefully other crafts in the future. I started Anderson's Treasures, an online retail business, back in August of last year, and haven't really tried to do much with it yet. I sold one item online and probably a dozen or so items locally. I just haven't had the energy...lol! ;) So...I started this blog and created a "local business" profile on Facebook for my business, to try to get more motivation. ;) I am still working out kinks in these two sites...they are very new...I still need to add pictures to my galleries, and I don't currently have anything listed in my Etsy Store either...but I'm hoping to soon...so please bear with me! ;)

I started my business just selling handmade jewelry, with the hopes of slowly incorporating other crafts. My husband bought me a Cricut Expression for Christmas last year, and I have been hooked on making cards! There is so much more you can do with this awesome machine from Provo Craft, but I'm sorta stuck on this one! ;) I have been following some other crafter's blogs and think it is very awesome that they share their projects, likes, tips, and life with everyone, and well...I wanna jump on that bandwagon too! I hope to provide inspiration, and share what I love with others! ;)

Please feel free to "Like" me and "Follow" me on this blog...I plan on having lots of fun here...and I would love to have you (yes YOU) along with me! ;)
