After about 2 weeks of not making anything with my Cricut at home (unbelievable I know!) I had the itch to make something! I finally had time for a project on Wednesday night and I needed to make a card for my mom, so that is what I sat down to do. My mom has been injured and needs some cheering up, so I wanted to make her a bright cheery card. I found this flower and leaf on my Accents Essentials Cricut Cartridge, and set out to find a patterned paper with her favorite color...yellow. I found something in my stash and found an awesome coordinating orange, and then a great background paper! I cut the flower out at 4 inches, and the leaf, I believe at 2 inches. I had to make the flower twice, since I wanted to use two colors, and I also cut out 2 leaves because I didn't really know how many leaves I wanted to use. I outlined every other flower pedal and the leaf with Diamond Stickles, and added a button to the center of the flower. I stamped a sentiment on the inside that says "When I count my blessing, I count you twice", and stamped the word "Hi" on the outside of the card. My mom fell on the ice back when we had the ice storms last month. She has a knot on her abdomen the doctors have been trying to figure out what it is and how to treat it, she has some other pains, can't get around very well at all, and she has been pretty depressed due to all of this. I'm sending her this card too cheer her up a little. We would appreciate prayers going out on her behalf for comfort and healing, as well as for the doctors to have insight on what is going on with her and the wisdom to know how to help her start feeling better soon. Here is the card I made for my mom:
It turned out that I had an extra leaf, and the alternating flower pedals I didn't used to make another card! We have a new resident where I work and needed to make her a welcome card. I intended to use my work Cricut to make it, but since I had these spare parts...I thought it would be perfect to make it for her! ;) On the inside of this card, I'd typed and cut out the sentiment "Welcome to Wynwood, Your new home, and to our family!". Here is the picture of her card:
